We're still around $10k short of our goal of being fully funded to adopt Miah. We do NOT feel God wants us going into debt to bring her home. We fully believe He wants to show us how powerful He is that He can fully fund Miah's adoption. That said, we still need a little over $10k. It seems like an unlikely number to raise so quickly. But we know God can do anything! We need the remainder of this money before we can take our second trip to bring Miah home. We're not sure when that will be yet, but probably some time between March and June.
For those who don't know, we are trying to raise $2,000 by the end of August. We have $562 raised so far. Would you consider donating $5, $10, or $20 to help bring Miah home? You can use the chip-in form on the right to donate securely through PayPal.
I've decided that in addition to the savings we are putting into our adoption fund and the money raised from Owls for Orphans, I am giving up soda and sweet tea until we are fully funded. When we go out to dinner I usually order a sweet tea or occasionally a soda. Now, when we go out, I will order water and move that $1.50 - $2 over from our checking account into our adoption account. If we go out once a week from now until the earliest possible time we could bring Miah home, we'll have saved a minimum of $50 just by me giving up soda and tea. That $50 may only seem like a drop in the bucket, but it all adds up. Even if you can only give $5 it will help SO MUCH.
Will you share this post and ask your friends to consider donating? The more people who share, the more money for Miah.
Once you donate and/or share, you can comment on THIS post for a chance to win a $100 Crafting Mommies gift card or a $50 Carrabba's gift card.
*P.S. Fundraising is very uncomfortable for us. Which is why you'll see a lot of posts about it here on the blog, but won't hear about it much in real life. It's awkward asking for money. I have to remind myself that we are not asking for this money for ourselves, but for Miah. We'll do anything possible to bring her home. Even if it's uncomfortable.
