My post earlier today was bleh. Sorry about that. Paperwork is no fun. But thankfully, paperwork is not completely consuming this journey. So I thought I would share all of the blessings we've encountered so far along the way. (And this is only THREE weeks into the process!)
1. Our home study agency has been SUPER FAST in getting this process rolling. Thank you, Lifeline!
2. Miah has a baba! (A baba is a "grandmother" type figure who comes in and spends a couple of hours a day with her. This is encouraging because it means someone is talking to her and feeding her.)
3. The officer who took our fingerprints is an adoptive father. He completely understood why we were there and encouraged us throughout the process! They also didn't charge us a dime since we brought our own cards.
4. Our social worker for our home study is a Christian. She's also a mother and there is a significant age difference between her and her husband. She understands us. She's very nice and encouraging.
5. While getting my passport photo taken, I was able to encourage another mom who has considered adoption, but never moved forward because of the cost.
6. Our social worker is also pushing through our home study as fast as we're letting her. (Meaning she's waiting on US to finish stuff so that she can put everything together.) Yes, she's THAT awesome.
7. We have so many supportive friends and family. There are so many people who can't wait to meet her and love on her. You guys have no idea how much this means to us. I've had friends cry with me over the state of Miah's lack of care. I have friends doing EVERYTHING they can to help us. It amazes me.
8. Miah's doctor at the International Adoption Clinic sent us a letter stating the necessity of expediting the adoption process. Now we just pray that immigration accepts the letter and expedites the process when we get to that point.
Y'all. God is good. We have no doubt that His hand is on this adoption and that He's watching over Miah while she waits for us.
